Teyana Taylor – “Undercover” Music Video

Teyana Taylor Undercover

Teyana Taylor is what we could call a triple threat, an amazing vocalist, talented dancer and also somewhat of an actress (Byronnnnnn!!!). I have followed her career since “My Super Sweet 16” and later when she released her single “Google Me” as I was inspired that someone who was the same age as me, had accomplished so much.

At just 25, Teyana has appeared in numerous tracks by some of the industry’s biggest and most respected. It stands to reason that, the knowledge and talent Taylor was exposed to had made an impression and an impact on her and her latest EP “The Cassette Tape 1994” is definitely causing waves with us R’n’B lovers. This EP is what alot of us have missed from the music industry, since TGT’s “Three Kings” album and have been so nostalgic for and the single “Undercover” did not disappoint.

“Undercover” transports you back to the late 80’s early 90’s with its new jack swing beats and strong vocals throughout. “Undercover” samples Bell Biv DeVoe’s smash hit “Poison”. Teyana not only gave us the vocals that put into question why more people not aware of her talents but she also insured that the visuals matched the feeling and beat of the track.

My strong love for everything fashion related to the 80’s and 90’s is why I created VY and why it still stands today and Teyana’s wardrobe for the entirety of video pays complete and effortless homage for all things 90’s hip hop. From the box braids, body suits, boiler suits and even the Cross Colours jackets, “Undercover” really paid true homage to such a great era. The wardrobe, choreography, and overall feel make this video a favourite with me.
